About

Im a graduate biologist from Arizona State University, currently working on a diversity of lichenzed fungi in the Sky Islands from the Santa Rita Mountains, Arizona, as my masters thesis project.

For my bachelors degree, under the supervision of Dr. Frank Bungartz & Dr. Ricardo Miranda, I did my thesis project on coastal lichens in the south coast of Sonora, and in the Baja California peninsula. Among many novelties of this diversity inventory, one remarkable is the establishment of the first lichen collection in Sonora, Mexico, hosted at the Universidad de Sonora Herbarium (Herbario USON), with collaboration of Arizona State University (ASU).

In Mexico, there are only a very limited numbers of lichenologists, therefore as well in lichen collections, and most of them are not properly uploaded to the public-database.

My goal is to contribute to the lichen knowledge in Mexico, specifically in the northern region. I am currently working on an extensive online-database using the Lichen Consortium (lichenportal.org) for lichen collections I have made along from several trips, mostly from Sonora, Mexico, and Arizona, USA.
